Hello!

Music has always been a huge part of my life. Growing up I was exposed to so many different genres of music and I fell in love with all of them! I played the trumpet in middle school and started a band with my cousin, brother and 2 of my close friends. It wasn't until we all grew up and stopped playing music together that I decided I needed to find a way to bring music to the world without relying on others to be there with me. This is where I discovered the world of DJing!

I bought my first DJ controller and began playing around with it until I was comfortable enough to start doing private events for friends such as birthday parties and house parties. This only inspired me to drive myself further into this hobby. I expanded my music library and skill set until a friend of mine asked me if I'd be willing to DJ for his wedding. I was nervous at first but I already had a history of wedding planning so I knew what to expect and was ready for the challenge. The night was amazing and I knew immediately this is what I wanted to do; I wanted to make your most magical night as memorable as possible by providing high quality entertainment through music and lighting!

I have been volunteering since I was 14 years old. It started with the Multnomah County Search and Rescue team where I volunteered for 4 years to search for and rescue missing hikers. during my time with Search and Rescue, I fell in love with the medical field as we were trained in basic first aid and CPR. After high school I went to college and studied Dental Assisting and have been in the field since 2017.

 

I would spend the majority of my time in scrubs, and I've always loved the way they look and feel, so naturally I wanted to incorporate my love for healthcare into my love for music. What better way to do that than the one obvious sign of a healthcare worker; scrubs. Thus the name DJ Skrubb was born. I still volunteer my time with Medical Teams International (MTI) doing free dental clinics throughout Portland and its surrounding cities.
